Review Summaries

Digitalrev dot com:
Was incredibly surprised at the quality of the Irix and declared it is an excellent lens. Both of the “Firefly” and “Blackstone” versions are optically and mechanically very sound. Sharpness is fantastic, with distortion and vignetting extremely well controlled. There are no problems with chromatic aberration, and ghosting and flare is kept under control. Digitalrev said that they hope TH-Swiss will in future produce more lenses like these.

Lenstip dot com:

  • Solid sealed casing with an appealing design
  • Excellent image quality in the frame center
  • Good image quality on the edge of the APS-C sensor
  • Imperceptible longitudinal chromatic aberration
  • Low lateral chromatic aberration
  • No problems with spherical aberration
  • Lower distortion than that of its direct rivals
  • Very low astigmatism
  • Acceptable level of blurry areas for this angle of view
  • Great accessories included
  • Monstrous vignetting on full frame
  • Weak performance against bright light
